Regular Season Round 6: Olimpi - Cactus Tbilisi 81-82

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Superleague took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Olimpi (1-5) to fourth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (3-2) 82-81 on Sunday evening. Olimpi was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 22-17 charge of Cactus Tbilisi, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. The former international swingman Irakli Chlaidze (198-89, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 24 points for the winners. The former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) replied with 19 points and 5 assists and American guard Tre Burnette (196, college: S.Dakota) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Olimpi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi maintains fourth position with 3-2 record. Olimpi lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Sokhumi. Cactus Tbilisi are looking forward to face higher ranked Energy Invest (#3) in Rustavi in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Olimpi will play on the road against Batumi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
