Regular Season Round 8: Karkkila - TuNMKY 63-86

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked TuNMKY (5-2) smashed on the road 8th ranked Karkkila (3-5) 86-63 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by TuNMKY. Karkkila was better in third quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was center Mikael Sandberg (210-91) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Eero Innamaa (186-98) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four TuNMKY players scored in double figures. Swingman Hannes Koskinen (198-98) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Michael King (201-74, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Karkkila's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. TuNMKY moved-up to fifth place in Division. Loser Karkkila dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. TuNMKY will face JyWe (#8) in Jyvaskyla in the next round. Karkkila will play on the road against the league's leader PuHu Juniorit in Vantaa and hope to win that game.
