Regular Season Round 8: Porvoon Tarmo - HBA-Marsky 109-117

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (4-7) was defeated at home by eighth ranked HBA-Marsky (4-6) 117-109 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 22-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. HBA-Marsky made 31-of-39 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Porvoon Tarmo was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Edon Maxhuni (183-98) who scored 43 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Hannes Polla (210-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Five HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Cameron Clark (190-93, college: Southwestern, KS) produced a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward B.J. Cardarelli (203, college: S.New Hampshire, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 27 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. HBA-Marsky moved-up to sixth place in Division. Loser Porvoon Tarmo dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. HBA-Marsky's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki ToPo.
