Regular Season Round 17: Tokyo Z - Bambitious Nara 62-64

Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Fifth ranked Bambitious Nara (6-10) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Tokyo Z (6-10) 64-62 in the game for the third place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 16-6. But Tokyo Z won second period 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bambitious Nara dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Z to just 6 points in first quarter. Nigerian forward Andy Ogide (204-87, college: Colorado St., agency: HMS) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bambitious Nara's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Shota Watanabe (180-93) answered with 29 points and American forward Xavier Ford (201-93, college: Buffalo) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Z. Bambitious Nara moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tokyo Z. Bambitious Nara will play against league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo Z's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Excel..
