There was no surprise in Helsinki where 12th ranked Munkkiniemen (2-7) was defeated by second ranked Ura Basket (7-2) 83-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ura Basket. Munkkiniemen was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ura Basket forced 21 Munkkiniemen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Ville Hanninen (193-95) who scored 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Eero Aaltonen (194-90) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Four Ura Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Miika Heinonen (193-99) produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Pyry Marttinen (184-99) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ura Basket maintains second position in Division with 7-2 record behind leader PuHu Juniorit. Newly promoted Munkkiniemen keeps the twelfth place with seven games lost. Ura Basket will face HyPo (#7) in Hyvinkaa in the next round where they are favorite.
