Regular Season Round 8: JuveCaserta - Betaland Cdo 91-86
Date: November 20, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Betaland Cdo (4-4) lost to third ranked Juvecaserta (6-2) in Caserta 86-91. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were ahead by 10 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 33-27 run, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Juvecaserta's coach Sandro Dell Agnello allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Croatian power forward Mario Delas (207-90) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Drake Diener (196-81, college: De Paul) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Juvecaserta have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader EA7 Armani, which they share with Scandone AV. Betaland Cdo at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Juvecaserta's next round opponent will be Umana Venezia (#5) on the road. Betaland Cdo will play against Openjobmetis VA and hope to win that game.
