Regular Season Round 9: Strasbourg - Limoges 79-60

Date: November 20, 2016
There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Strasbourg IG (4-5) smashed at home higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (4-5) 79-60. It looked good early as Limoges CSP Elite took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Strasbourg IG had a 22-5 second period charge getting the lead and Limoges CSP Elite was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-79. Strasbourg IG dominated on the defensive end, holding Limoges CSP Elite to just 5 points in second quarter. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Strasbourg IG players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Paul Lacombe (195-90, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 9 assists. American forward Matt Howard (203-89, college: Butler) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. Strasbourg IG's coach Vincent Collet allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) answered with 18 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international center Ousmane Camara (202-89) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Limoges CSP Elite. Strasbourg IG moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Limoges CSP Elite. Strasbourg IG's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Sluc Nancy (#18) at home which should be an easy win for them.
