Very predictable result when third ranked CD Castro (10-7) won against at home 9th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (4-13) 78-61 on Sunday. They outrebounded Tinguiririca S.F. 40-17 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Jorge Vasquez (185-86) replied with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Argentinian power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (196-88) added 17 points in the effort for Tinguiririca S.F.Five CD Castro and four Tinguiririca S.F. players scored in double figures.
