Everything went according to plan when first ranked Tochigi Brex (14-2) won against on the road 4th ranked Sendai 89ers (6-10) 78-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Sendai 89ers was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sendai 89ers 48-29 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in 4 points and 11 rebounds. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Masaharu Kataoka (190-85) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Tochigi Brex have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-2 record. Sendai 89ers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Chiba Jets (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sendai 89ers will play against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
