Rather expected game in Nagoya where 9th ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-12) were crushed by sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (11-3) 68-44 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-15 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mitsubishi K. dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 6 points in third quarter. They held Hitachi Cougars to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Chika Sakuragi (179-91) who added 17 points during the contest. They dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Mitsubishi K. will face league's leader JX-Eneos S. in Kashiwa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Cougars will play on the road against Aishin Wings (#10) in Anjo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
