Regular Season Round 9: Asker Aliens - Persbraten 91-75

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Persbraten (1-8) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Asker Aliens (5-6) 91-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Asker Aliens. Persbraten was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asker Aliens dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Persbraten's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Persbraten's players. The former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists for the winners and American point guard Nate Garth (188-89, college: UCSB) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Hungarian-Swedish guard Zoltan Kurinczky (181-82) with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Swedish guard Aron Furstenberg (192-88) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Asker Aliens moved-up to sixth place. Persbraten lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Asker Aliens will have a break next round. Persbraten will play at home against Baerum Basket (#4) and hope to win that game.
