Regular Season Round 12: SP Las Parejas - Union SF 74-93

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Union SF (8-2) outplayed 6th ranked Sportivo (2-7) in Las Parejas 93-74 on Monday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 56-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for swingman Bruno Barovero (194-90) who led his team to a victory with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Fernando Podesta (205-92) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Union SF's coach Daniel Beltramo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Mauro Negri (200-81) replied with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Juan Ignacio Rodriguez Suppi (178-91) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Sportivo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Union SF have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record. Newly promoted Sportivo keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Union SF will have a break next round. Sportivo will play again at home against the league's leader Union SF (#1) and hope to win that game.
