Regular Season Round 6: Almat.Legion - Kapshagay 96-85

Higher League round 6 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Kapshagay (5-1) against third ranked Almat.Legion (5-1) 96-85 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kapshagay. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Almat.Legion looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Vsevolod Fadeikin (206-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Yuriy Kozhanov (190-90) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Point guard Daniil Seleznev (186-90) replied with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international swingman Konstantin Dvirniy (192-88) added 22 points and 4 steals in the effort for Kapshagay. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kapshagay's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Almat.Legion have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tobol and Kapshagay. Kapshagay will play next round against Barsy-2 trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Almat.Legion will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Kaspiy-2 in Aktau.
