Regular Season Round 7: Kaspiy-2 - Almat.Legion 36-122

Higher League top team - Almat.Legion (6-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Kaspiy-2 (0-7) in Aktau 122-36. Almat.Legion dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Kaspiy-2's 22 and had 21 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Kaspiy-2 only scored two points from the stripe. Almat.Legion forced 34 Kaspiy-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 48-15 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kaspiy-2's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Alexander Danilchenko (203-97) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Ruslan Aitkali (195-97) contributed with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Almat.Legion players scored in double figures. Point guard Leonid Kachaev (185-96) answered with 14 points and guard Danil Davletbaev (185-99) added 10 points in the effort for Kaspiy-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Almat.Legion have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Tobol and Kapshagay. Kaspiy-2 at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Almat.Legion will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kaspiy-2 will play on the road against Kapshagay (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
