Regular Season Round 11: Berazategui - Union Florida 64-61

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Superliga took place in Buenos Aires. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Union Florida (8-4) to seventh ranked Berazategui (5-6) 64-61 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Union Florida. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Union Florida won fourth quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for center Agustina Leiva (180-96) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Center Maria Julieta Giorgetti (180-97) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Berazategui players scored in double figures. Cuban point guard Anilegna Colas Ortega (163-95) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds and forward Carla Miculka (174-93) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Union Florida's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Berazategui moved-up to fifth place. Union Florida at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second position with four games lost. Berazategui are looking forward to face Talleres RPB (#6) in the next round. Union Florida will play against Lanus (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
