Second Stage Round 15: Shenyang - Henan 100-94

First defeat of Henan (2-1) against sixth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (1-2) 100-94 was the most important game of the last round. Shenyang Golden Lions shot 61.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Henan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international swingman Jiabao Jin (184-93) who led her team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists. International forward Meng Li (185-95) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Shenyang Golden Lions players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American forward Chiney Ogwumike (193-92, college: Stanford) answered with 44 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Pinzhen Huang added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Henan. Shenyang Golden Lions left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Shandong. Henan at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Sichuan and Xinjiang. They were replaced at the leadership position by Bayi. Henan will play next round against Guangdong Dolphins trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Shenyang Golden Lions will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Xinjiang in Urumqi.
