An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 4th ranked Shandong in a game in Jinan versus Whale (#3) 63-53. It was an exceptional evening for American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Swingman Siyang Wu (182-91) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. The former international power forward Xiao Ji (193-85) came up with 8 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Hengyu Yang (194-95) added 4 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Shandong in the defeat. Whale (2-1) moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Xinjiang. Loser Shandong keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Shenyang. Whale will meet league's leader Bayi Kylin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shandong will play against Liaoning Hengye in Anshan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
