There was a minor upset in Tianjin where 11th ranked TianJin Steel (5-5) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (4-6) 108-99 on Wednesday. TianJin Steel was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) fired 40 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Lin Chang (206-88, college: Long Beach St.) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang CB and Shanxi Zh. Loser TianJin Steel dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
