Rather expected game in Kauhajoki where 7th ranked Kouvot (4-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (6-5) 99-92. Kouvot was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Kauhajoen Karhu dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot's 40 and made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Kauhajoen Karhu players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by forward Kammeon Holsey (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) who scored that evening 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) supported him with 24 points. Four Kauhajoen Karhu players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Kouvot. Forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Kauhajoen Karhu maintains fourth position with 6-5 record. Defending champion Kouvot keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against higher ranked Salon Vilpas (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kouvot will play against Lapuan Korikobrat (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
