Regular Season Round 12: Nova Ves - Lucenec 77-81

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-77 loss to seventh ranked Lucenec (5-6) in Nova Ves. They outrebounded Nova Ves 43-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. Nova Ves were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import forward Aaron Rountree III (203-93, college: Iona) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Lucenec players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico, agency: Global Sports Plaza) replied with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian guard Aleksa Solevic (183-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Nova Ves. Nova Ves' coach David Demecko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Lucenec maintains seventh position with 5-6 record. Nova Ves at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Lucenec will play against higher ranked Rieker KN (#6) in Komarno in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nova Ves will play on the road against Levice (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
