Regular Season Round 17: Sendai 89ers - Toyota Alvark 70-100

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Toyota Alvark (14-3) crushed on the road 4th placed Sendai 89ers (6-11) 100-70 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and forward Takayuki Kumagai (190-85) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Sendai 89ers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toshiba BT and Tochigi Brex. Sendai 89ers lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fourth place with 11 games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round. Sendai 89ers will play on the road against Akita Happinets (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
