Regular Season Round 8: Kazygurt - Barsy-2 82-65

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Barsy-2 (3-4) lost to fourth ranked Kazygurt (5-2) in Shymkent 65-82 on Wednesday. Kazygurt dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Barsy-2's 24. Kazygurt forced 24 Barsy-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Viktor Sotov (173-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Forward Zhandos Kaliyev (197-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. Point guard Ilyas Zhunussov (175-98) replied with 14 points and 7 assists and point guard Adilhan Marat (183-99) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Barsy-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kazygurt maintains fourth position with 5-2 record. Loser Barsy-2 keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Kazygurt are looking forward to face higher ranked Almat.Legion (#3) in Alma-Ata in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Barsy-2 will play at home against Kaspiy-2 and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
