There was a surprise result in Sorocabana where twelfth ranked Minas (2-4) beat higher ranked Liga Sorocaba (2-3) 69-63 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) who scored 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. The other American import forward Drew Maynard (200-89, college: Rochester, MI) chipped in 6 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Luisinho da Silva (183-78) who recorded 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Alexandre de Souza (202-92) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Minas went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Liga Sorocaba lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
