Regular Season Round 9: Barsy-2 - Kaspiy-2 107-35

Bottom-ranked Kaspiy-2 (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 107-35 loss to sixth ranked Barsy-2 (4-4) in Atyrau. They held Kaspiy-2 to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Barsy-2 forced 30 Kaspiy-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 50-31 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Kaspiy-2 was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international center Askar Maidekin (205-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Bogdan Lachsh (195-99) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Barsy-2 players scored in double figures. Point guard Bogdan Ivanchikin (175-0) answered with 14 points and guard Danil Davletbaev (185-99) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kaspiy-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barsy-2 maintains sixth place with 4-4 record. Kaspiy-2 lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Barsy-2 will play against league's leader Almat.Legion in Alma-Ata in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kaspiy-2 will have a break next round.
