Very important is a loss of second ranked Yulon Luxgen (5-2) against fourth ranked Pauian (3-4) on Friday night. Yulon Luxgen was crushed by Pauian 92-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Yulon Luxgen. They outrebounded Yulon Luxgen 45-31 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pauian players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Point guard Chen Jian-En (181-88, college: Biola, CA) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 assists for the winners and international power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) chipped in 8 points and 16 rebounds. Four Pauian players scored in double figures. Guard Kuo-Tseng Tsui (185-90) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pauian maintains fourth place with 3-4 record. Yulon Luxgen at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Pauian will play against KKL (#5) in the next round. Yulon Luxgen will play against the league's leader Fubon Braves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
