Regular Season Round 11: Caceres - Palma 91-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Palma (6-5) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Caceres Basket (4-6) 91-82 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-82. Caceres Basket outrebounded Palma 33-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. Caceres Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a great evening for Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 4 assists. Point guard Jose Antonio Marco (179-89) helped adding 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Caceres Basket players scored in double figures. Point guard Carles Bivia (189-85) responded with 18 points and forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-88) scored 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Caceres Basket moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Palma keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Caceres Basket will face higher ranked Araberri (#6) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
