Very significant was Leyma Basquet's (#4) 89-80 road victory against second-ranked Lleida Basquet. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 27-17 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian guard Filip Djuran (195-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Zach Monaghan (188-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Duran International) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. Four Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) came up with 16 points and forward Gerard Sevillano (196-94) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lleida Basquet in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leyma Basquet (8-3) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Lleida Basquet lost third consecutive game. Lleida Basquet at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Ourense and Araberri. Leyma Basquet will play against league's second-placed Leche Rio Breogan in Lugo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lleida Basquet will play on the road against Marin (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
