Regular Season Round 7: Roanne - Boulogne 81-71

There was no surprise when 17th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (1-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Chorale de Roanne (5-2) 81-71. The game was mostly controlled by Chorale de Roanne. SO Maritime Boulogne was better in third quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chorale de Roanne forced 23 SO Maritime Boulogne turnovers. Strangely SO Maritime Boulogne outrebounded Chorale de Roanne 41-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Arthur Rozenfeld (178-95) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws). American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) accounted for 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. American point guard Tyreek Duren (183-91, college: La Salle) came up with 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (204-88) added 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for SO Maritime Boulogne in the defeat. SO Maritime Boulogne's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chorale de Roanne. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. SO Maritime Boulogne at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with six games lost. Chorale de Roanne's next round opponent will be Saint Chamond (#13) on the road which should be an easy win for them. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against ADA Blois (#14) and hope to win that game.
