Regular Season Round 8: Promitheas - Trikalla 84-67

Date: November 26, 2016
There was no surprise in Patras where 13th ranked Aiolos Trikallon (2-6) was defeated by ninth ranked Promitheas (4-4) 84-67. The game was mostly controlled by Promitheas. Aiolos Trikallon was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aiolos Trikallon to just 7 points in first quarter. The winners were led by American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who scored that evening 19 points and Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) supported him with 15 points. Four Promitheas players scored in double figures. Even 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) did not help to save the game for Aiolos Trikallon. Ukrainian guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Promitheas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Aiolos Trikallon at the other side dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Promitheas' next round opponent will be AGOR (#5) in Rethymno. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) and hope to win that game.
