Regular Season Round 9: Alcobendas - Olimpico 64 75-65

Bottom-ranked Olimpico 64 is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to fourth ranked Alcobendas (6-2) 75-65 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-65. It was a good game for guard Paula Palomares (174-84) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 6 assists. Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Beatriz Parada (179-86) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Katia Javier (182-93) added 10 points in the effort for Olimpico 64. Olimpico 64's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Alcobendas moved-up to second place in Group B. Olimpico 64 lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Alcobendas will face Promete (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olimpico 64's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid ASEFA Estudiantes.
