Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Oviedo (1-8) was outscored by third ranked Sant Adria (6-2) in Sant Adria de Besos 81-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sant Adria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sant Adria forced 19 Oviedo turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Itziar Llobet (180-93, college: Kent St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 4 assists. Power forward Cris Hurtado (187-92) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Sant Adria's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Joy Brown (180-93, college: Iona) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian guard Mariah Nunes (178-93, college: Ryerson) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Oviedo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sant Adria. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada. Loser Oviedo keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Sant Adria will face Joventut LC (#8) in Barcelona in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Oviedo will play at home against Joventut LC (#8) and hope to win that game.
