Very predictable result when seventh ranked GKS Tychy (7-5) won against 15th ranked Astoria Bydg. (2-10) in Bydgoszcz 76-71 on Saturday. GKS Tychy looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for swingman Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Piotr Halas (190-87) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and Mateusz Bierwagen (195-88, agency: Promotex) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Astoria Bydg.Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. GKS Tychy maintains seventh position with 7-5 record. Astoria Bydg. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with ten games lost. GKS Tychy will face higher ranked Legia W-wa (#3) in Warszawa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Astoria Bydg. will play at home against Biofarm PZN (#8) and hope to win that game.
