Regular Season Round 9: T71 - Basket Esch 86-96

There was a minor upset in Dudelange where 5th ranked T71 (5-4) was defeated by seventh ranked Basket Esch (5-4) 96-86 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Serbian-Hungarian swingman Momcilo Latinovic (198-89, college: N.Mexico Highlands, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored 32 points and 8 rebounds. Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87) who recorded 43 points (!!!) and international swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 9 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Basket Esch moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated T71. Basket Esch will meet at home higher ranked Contern (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. T71 will play against the league's second-placed Amicale and hope to secure a win.
