The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Correcaminos' (2-12) road loss to ninth ranked Ciudad (5-8) in Ciudad Juarez 82-87 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. It was a very good performance for forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Kennedy Jones (, college: Arlington Baptist) answered with 21 points (made all of his seven free throws) and Giovanni Silva added 18 points in the effort for Correcaminos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ciudad moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Santos. Correcaminos lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Ciudad is looking forward to face higher ranked Soles (#5) in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Correcaminos will play on the road against the league's second-placed Toros (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
