Regular Season Round 8: Skrljevo - KK Split 59-61

Very predictable result when fourth ranked KK Split (7-1) edged on the road 12th ranked KK Skrljevo (1-7) 61-59 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. KK Split forced 19 KK Skrljevo turnovers. Strangely KK Skrljevo outrebounded KK Split 39-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Josip Jukic (207-96) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Toni Dijan (205-83) chipped in 2 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Davor Konjevic (197-90) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Dino Palcic (185-90) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. KK Split have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Jolly JBS and GKK Sibenik. KK Skrljevo at the other side keeps the twelfth place with seven games lost. KK Split will face Kvarner (#12) in Rijeka in the next round which should be an easy win for them. KK Skrljevo will play on the road against H.Analitica in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
