Regular Season Round 9: Segle XXI - ADBA 67-63

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Segle XXI (5-4) defeated 11th ranked ADBA (2-6) in Barcelona 67-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely ADBA outrebounded Segle XXI 41-26 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Aixa Wone (184-0) who led her team to a victory with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Sofia Galeron (186-99) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Segle XXI players scored in double figures. Segle XXI's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. French forward Rudiane Eduardo (185-93, college: UTEP) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Andrea Malanda (164-90) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for ADBA. Segle XXI moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Arxil Pontev. and Barcelona. ADBA lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Segle XXI will face Arxil Pontevedra (#5) on the road in the next round. ADBA will play against Barcelona (#7) and hope to win that game.
