Regular Season Round 18: Kyoto Hannar. - Shiga L-Stars 83-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars' (4-14) road loss to fifth ranked Kyoto Hannar. (8-10) 74-83 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shiga L-Stars won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Kyoto Hannar. won last quarter 22-14. Guard Hayato Kawashima (186-90) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Narito Namizato (172-89) with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyoto Hannar. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face again Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round.
