Regular Season Round 18: Shimane SM - Kagawa FA 83-51
Date: November 26, 2016
Rather predictable result when third ranked Shimane Magic (12-5) rolled over at home 5th ranked Kagawa FA (3-14) 83-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Kagawa FA was better in third quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kagawa FA to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 46-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Shinobu Kon (190-87) added 8 points in the effort for Kagawa FA. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-5 record having just two points less than leader Kumamoto V. Kagawa FA lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu in the next round.
