Regular Season Round 10: Andujar - Meridiano Baza 72-68

There was a minor upset when much higher ranked Meridiano Baza (5-3) lost on the road to fifth ranked Andujar (4-3) 72-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 21-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for Chadian center Edmond Koyanouba (207-95) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Daniel Munoz (188-87) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Andujar players scored in double figures. Andujar's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard David Garcia (180-93) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Jorge Rodriguez (198-94) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Meridiano Baza. Andujar moved-up to third place in Group D-A. Newly promoted Meridiano Baza keeps the second position with three games lost. Andujar will face league's leader CAM E.Soler in Melilla in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Meridiano Baza will play at home against Novaschool and hope to win that game.
