Regular Season Round 18: Aomori Watts - Fukushima 89-93

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Aomori Watts (7-10) lost at home to second ranked Fukushima (11-6) 93-89 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-89. Aomori Watts were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fukushima have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-6 record having just three points less than leader Kumamoto V. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Fukushima will have a break next round. Aomori Watts will play again at home against the league's second-placed Fukushima (#2) and hope to win that game.
