Regular Season Round 10: BVM 2012 - Vigo VGO 71-72

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Vigo VGO (1-7) edged 11th ranked BVM 2012 (2-5) in Mieres 72-71 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BVM 2012 won fourth quarter 29-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vigo VGO made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Javier Dominguez (198-94) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Vigo VGO players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: Amer.Internat., agency: Duran International) replied with 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and American Emory Bennett (203-92, college: St.Catharine) added 16 points in the effort for BVM 2012. BVM 2012's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vigo VGO left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in Group A-B. It was BVM 2012's third loss in a row. They keep the eleventh position with five games lost. Vigo VGO will face higher ranked Ponferrada CDP (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
