Regular Season Round 10: Utrera - San Juan 65-62

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Utrera and one of their biggest challengers San Juan had identical 3-4 record. This time Utrera used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from San Juan del Puerto 65-62 on Saturday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Utrera made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for guard Juan Toledo (190-96) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Abraham Requena (185-93) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Antonio Gomez (193-79) replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds and guard Antonio Rodriguez (185-78) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for San Juan. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Utrera (4-4) moved-up to fourth place in Group D-B. San Juan lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Utrera will face San Fernando (#7) on the road in the next round. San Juan will play against Real Betis SVL 2 and hope to win that game.
