Regular Season Round 9: Bashkimi - Kerasan 98-61

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bashkimi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bashkimi smashed bottom-ranked Kerasan in Prizren 98-61. The game without a history. Bashkimi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bashkimi outrebounded Kerasan 48-26 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Kerasan's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists. His fellow American import forward Kayel Locke (196-94, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Five Bashkimi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Gent Shala (197-98) who recorded 9 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Genc Gashi (187-97) added 11 points respectively. Kerasan's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Kerasan at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Kerasan will play next round against strong Sigal Prishtina trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Prishtina - Sigal Prishtina. Bashkimi will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Vellaznimi in Gjakove.
