Regular Season Round 18: Osaka Evessa - Nagoya DD 90-88 OT

Osaka Evessa (9-9) outlasted Diamond Dolphins (10-8) in overtime by two points 90-88 on Saturday night. Diamond Dolphins were trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 23-21 charge of Osaka Evessa, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-10. Osaka Evessa made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Diamond Dolphins turnovers. Diamond Dolphins were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Hiroyuki Kinoshita (178-80) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field) and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Five Osaka Evessa and four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Osaka Evessa maintains third position with 9-9 record having six points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Diamond Dolphins at the other side keep the second place with eight games lost. Osaka Evessa will face again league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
