There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Albino (4-4) beat at home 7th ranked Milano (5-3) 59-53 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 19-6 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Albino dominated on the defensive end, holding Milano to just 6 points in fourth quarter. The former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian guard Lana Packovski (170-94) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Latvian power forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and forward Giulia Maffenini (175-92, agency: Two Points) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Milano. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Albino moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Milano dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Albino will face league's leader Sesto SG in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
