Regular Season Round 8: Limoges - Roche 51-61

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Limoges (1-7) was defeated at home by second ranked Roche (7-1) 61-51 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 61-51. The best player for the winners was DR Congolese center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-82) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Emmanuelle Gorjeu (172-89) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Limoges' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Roche keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Avenir. Loser Limoges stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Roche will face Roannais (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Limoges will play against Dunkerque and hope to win that game.
