Regular Season Round 8: WIT Wildcats - Brunell 66-47

Date: November 26, 2016
Bottom-ranked Brunell (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 66-47 loss to third ranked WIT Wildcats (5-2) in Waterford on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. WIT Wildcats outrebounded Brunell 50-22 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Brunell's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Stephanie O'Shea (185-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and American guard Brittney Dunbar (173, college: Weber St.) who added 11 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals during the contest. Canadian power forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 blocks and American center Madison Ward (190-94, college: Merrimack) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Brunell's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. WIT Wildcats moved-up to second place, which they share with Liffey Celtics. Loser Brunell still closes the standings with seven games lost. WIT Wildcats will meet at home DCU Mercy (#5) in the next round. Brunell will play against Meteors (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
