Regular Season Round 12: Asseco II - AZS UMK Torun 72-76

Rather expected game in Gdynia where 5th ranked Asseco II (5-4) was defeated by third ranked AZS UMK Torun (8-2) 76-72 on Saturday. AZS UMK Torun forced 23 Asseco II turnovers. Asseco II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Radoslaw Plebanek (190-85) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Zbigniew Malinowski (188-84) who added 22 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Mariusz Konopatzki (192-96) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Filip Put (201-93) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AZS UMK Torun have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with SMS PZKosz. Loser Asseco II dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. AZS UMK Torun will face Tarnovia (#8) in Tarnowo Podgorne in the next round where they are favorite. Asseco II will play on the road against AZS PGd in Gdansk and hope to win that game.
