Regular Season Round 8: Noorteliiga - TLU/Kalev 62-87

TLU/Kalev can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Tallinn, where they outplayed Noorteliiga (0-6) 87-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TLU/Kalev. Noorteliiga managed to win fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TLU/Kalev dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Noorteliiga's 26. TLU/Kalev forced 23 Noorteliiga turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Kaido Saks (207-86, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four TLU/Kalev players scored in double figures. Power forward Madis Soodla (205-97) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ron-Arnar Pehka (185-98) added 5 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Noorteliiga's coach Indrek Visnapuu gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. TLU/Kalev (1-6) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. It was Noorteliiga's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. TLU/Kalev are looking forward to face higher ranked Parnu (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Noorteliiga's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn Kalev/Cramo.
