There was an upset when much higher ranked UCAM Murcia II (6-2) was edged on the road by sixth ranked Valencia-2 (4-4) 71-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-70. Valencia-2 forced 26 UCAM Murcia II turnovers. Quite impressive performance for swingman Josep Puerto (199-99) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Jon Galarza (193-97) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Valencia-2 players scored in double figures. Jose Ortega (188-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Pablo Carselle (183-93) added 14 points and 4 steals in the effort for UCAM Murcia II. UCAM Murcia II's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Valencia-2 moved-up to fifth place in Group E, which they share with Sagunto. Loser UCAM Murcia II keeps the second position with two games lost. Valencia-2 will face L Alfas (#9) in Alfas Del Pi in the next round.
